Kiowa's Peace Corps Service Preparation

My name is Kiowa and I'm leaving at the end of May to serve a two and a half year tour as a Peace Corps volunteer. I will be a secondary education English teacher in Mongolia.

As part of my final preparation I need medical clearance and supplies. So that means going to several different doctors (without insurance) for several different types of exams, drawing blood for testing, getting shots - all to send to the federal government to officially declare that I am healthy and ready to serve.

I will also need supplies. It gets down to -30'F in the winter so I need warm clothing, a proper sleeping bag, and other supplies to withstand the extreme cold and other challenging conditions Mongolia poses to inhabitants. I will be living in a ger or yurt, a tent covered in felt, with no running water or indoor plumbing. I will have to walk to a public well for water and an outhouse that I share with my community.
