We are raising funds for Breaking The Chains who desperately need the support to continue rescuing and caring for animals in Ukraine over the winter months.
The funds raised will help supply the following:
- A generator - with Russia trying to render Ukraine powerless, this is of extreme importance. Without power we lose access to heating, lighting, running water and other amenities. It’s vital that we become self sufficient on power so that the animals and the team don’t suffer. Without power, Breaking The Chains will not be able to operate in Ukraine.
- Fuel - this is needed to power a generator and also to supply our vehicles so that the team can drive the 1000s of miles required to reach the animals and villages in the worst conditions.
- Food and supplies - we need to stockpile as much as possible so that we can distribute to as many villages as we can. Snow and ice will soon make many places difficult to reach so we need to get as much food and supplies to them before roads become impassable.
- Shelter costs - on top of operating near the frontlines, Breaking The Chains care for more than 100 animals at the shelter they have built in Ukraine.
Tom and the team have been working tirelessly in Ukraine since the war began back in February. When many organisations came and left, Breaking The Chains were one of few that have continuously stayed in Ukraine and helped.
They have delivered 100s of tonnes of food and supplies, and rescued 1000s of animals. None of it would have been possible without the financial aid from kind, generous supporters.
With the war getting worse and the winter months coming in, they are now at risk of losing everything they have built. Without power, fuel and supplies they cannot operate safely and they may be faced with the hard decision to leave which would mean many more animals and people would suffer.
