Sylvia Garcia

Sylvia Garcia is an incredible and beautiful soul, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, and teacher within our community.  She is a dedicated and devoted mother to 3 beautiful children, Monica, Pablo, and Dominic.  She has always been an active community leader as a teacher for Las Cruces Public Schools for the past 30 years.  She is currently teaching at Lynn Middle School where she strives to mold successful and fulfilled lives for every one of her students through her strong faith, dedication, and pragmatic encouragement to both her students and parents.  Sylvia has a reputation for being more than "just a teacher".  She is THE teacher that many of her students and parents remember 20 years later, being recognized for always instilling and nurturing success and confidence in all her students. 
Unfortunately, and with a sad heart, Sylvia became extremely ill on October 28, 2020 and began emergently fighting for her life to beat the Covid-19 virus.  As with so many others right now, her fight to survive has become lengthy and exhausting.  Sylvia's disease has recently worsened and over the last 3 weeks while remaining in intensive care, her body is now requiring intubation for healing and mechanical assistance to aid in her survival.  She has been stable for the past week with promising improvements but continues to remain in extremely critical condition.
With a fearful and unknown outcome for Sylvia, and on behalf of her family, I am reaching out to the community to seek any financial assistance at this time that may ease the financial burden that accompanies Sylvia’s fight to survive.  All financial donations are greatly needed and appreciated by Sylvia and her family to help ease the economic stress accompanying Sylvia’s current illness and critical health.
As Sylvia is obviously unable to work, her family is in need of financial support right now so that their primary focus can be directed to healing their mother and getting her home as soon as possible, so that she may continue advancing towards a full recovery. 
Sylvia is a firm believer in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior and is relying on His healing power to heal her body.  It will be through love and prayer from her family and her community that she will overcome this devastating illness.  
The family would like to ask that any and all prayer warriors come together and pray for Sylvia's comfort during this time of suffering, to please lend skill and knowledge to the hands of her healers, and bless the means needed for her cure.  Your financial support and prayer will provide the confidence her family so desperately needs at this time. Through Grace, Sylvia will not be afraid but will put her whole trust and be healed, through her Savior Jesus Christ. 
Sylvia has always had confidence in her strong belief that, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
