Tashmin's Health Fund

Hello. It has taken me a while, and a lot of courage to do this and talk about my situation but some of my closest family and friends feel that this could help my family and I. Here is the situation, in September of 2012; I got a job opportunity in Maryland. I was very excited but two weeks before the great move, my 24 year old daughter was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor that was not cancerous. Due to this illness, many things in her health began to fail. In November of 2012, Tashmin became very sick and ended up in the hospital. In the hospital, she found out that the tumor had grown, but not a sufficient amount for surgery. She also found out she was expecting a baby who is now my two year old grandson. Due to her illness, her pregnancy was very difficult, she saw several of doctors every week such as Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuro-ophthalmology, Endocrinology, and of course Gynecology. Throughout her pregnancy, she began to lose her peripheral vision more and more each month. They took away her driving, schooling, and was not able to work. She began her treatment for the tumor. A while has past and we all thought things were getting better. Her treatment was complete, the tumor shrunk, and her peripheral vision, although she lost a lot of it, was stable but not better. In August 2015, we moved to Miami for a better opportunity because I found a job I loved. Things were okay until three weeks ago I lost my job. A week after losing my job, Tashmin landed back into the hospital getting sick once again. There she finds out several things. She was admitted into the hospital for bad painful headaches and loss of vision. After seeing the neurologists, neurosurgeon, neuro-ophthalmologists, and endocrinologists, and doing various of tests, they told her that although her tumor has not grown nor putting pressure on the pituitary gland, it has moved into a different part of the pituitary gland where there is an opening for it to move to a different part of the brain and that can be extremely dangerous. In order to establish what is going on, she would need an MRI of the entire brain. They also diagnosed her with another severe problem. They told her that her optic nerve was extremely abnormal (optic nerve atrophy) and that there is no cure for it. She would also need an MRI of the eyes to further analyze but that the state it was in, her vision would only get worse. She has lost all of her peripheral vision now, and they doctors say that with this illness, her eyes will only get worse and she will lose all her vision and become blind. Of course because I lost my job, she has no health insurance therefore cannot see any doctors, take any treatments or medications, or do any test. We applied for medical assistance but were denied. We re-applied again. She has no peripheral vision in both eyes. Tashmin needs an MRI on the brain and an MRI of the eyes plus doctor visits to the neuro-ophthalmologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeon. Once again they have taken her driving and schooling away. The longer we wait for her to get this test done and follow up with doctors, the worse her condition will get. The cost of the MRI for her eyes cost $2600, the MRI for the brain cost $3000, and $1200 for doctor visits. Anything will help. Thank you and God Bless.
