Peace and Dignity Journeys - Prayer Run
Donation protected
The Peace and Dignity Journeys began in 1992. It is a cross- continental run that traverses Turtle Island and takes place every four years. All aspects of the Peace and Dignity Journeys are facilitated by the communities and territories the Runners will cross. This a true community-based and grass roots effort. A central component to many First Nation and Indigenous peoples is running as a means of prayer and meditation and the Peace and Dignity Journeys, the prophecy of the Condor and Eagle coming together, is just that. It is not a race, not a marathon, but spiritual run.
This particular Go Fund Me campaign is aiming to raise funds for the Tataviam- San Fernando Tributary Route. This route is located in the Northeast San Fernando Valley of California, which is home to the Fernandeno Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. This Tributary Route hosts 20+ miles of the Peace and Dignity Journeys Continental West Coast Route and is looking to raise moneys for:
- Gas cards for our drivers
- First aids kits for all drivers/ cars
- Packs of water
- Hydration packets
- Healthy snacks
- Running shoes for any runner(s) who may need them
- Funds to host the dinner at the end of our route
*Any excess proceeds will be given to the routes following ours
