Please help us bury my friends son, Dre

One of my closest friends, Tomiko Edwards Crocheron, received news that no parent ever should. Her only son, DeAndre Rogers, is no longer living. DeAndre was found hanging in a carport in Grand Junction, Colorado on September 21, 2020. Before the investigation was even complete, the police and coroner ruled it a suicide, even though there are several avenues that have not been pursued with the Investigation. We are now raising funds for his burial to ensure that we can preserve his body for a thorough investigation and an independent coroner review.

The circumstances of his death and the investigation are questionable to say the least, and in the midst of her grief and justifiable anger, the last thing she should have to worry about is figuring out how to afford the burial of her only son. DeAndre was an active protester, and did not shy from speaking the truth in the face of anyone. I have attached a video of him protesting at the Grand Junction Police department a few months before his death in which he described the inhumane treatment they received from the residents and police department in Grand Junction, including how the officers urinated in his clothes upon his release from jail.

In addition, I have included a link to his obituary so you all can see the kind, intelligent and spirited person he was.

My friend Tomiko is and amazingly kind woman, and the grief she is carrying is unimaginable. Let’s help to lighten the hold. 

Please give whatever you can to help lighten the cost of burying her only son.
