Peace of Mind for Andrea Moore & Family

Donation protected
In January 2024, Andrea (VanLuvanee) Moore was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that had already advanced to other parts of her body by the time it was discovered. Since diagnosis, she has been so courageous and fought so hard through chemotherapy and other treatments with her typical humor and wit, and somehow managed to still be as present as possible for her 10-year-old daughter, Ryan, and husband, David. Unfortunately, despite her fight for more time, this is a very aggressive cancer, and her doctors estimate that she only has about six months to a year to live.

Anyone who knows Andrea knows how selfless she is. Having grown up with Andrea, I know her as the friend who will always be in your corner, rooting you on and having your back. She’s one of the most genuine and authentic people you’ll ever know – loud, proud, and always welcomes others with open arms. In her career, she’s been a fierce advocate for people with developmental disabilities, working longer hours than I realized was even legal. She has earned the love and respect of her colleagues and staff who reported to her with her unique and refreshing “everyone belongs” attitude. And somehow, despite being so incredibly dedicated to her work, she has always shown up as the most adoring, supportive, and devoted mother to Ryan, making sure she never misses an opportunity to do what she loves, regardless of when or where it is. I know I’m not alone in being in complete awe of how she manages to do it all, and so well!

True to her selfless nature, it’s no surprise that her biggest concern right now is how this will inevitably impact David, Ryan, and her mom, Sheila. She does not want them to be straddled with funeral expenses and wants to be sure that Ryan will be taken care of financially. Funds donated will be used to pay for funeral expenses, expenses related to Andrea's care, and what remains will be set aside for Ryan's future.

Please help us return all of the good she has put in the world, and give her peace of mind so she can spend her remaining time focusing on what, and who, is important.
