Peace, Prayers, and Blessings for Jayda Williams

This fundraiser is for Jayda Williams and her family. Jayda is a microbiologist and a current college student working on her Master’s Degree. Jayda is the breadwinner of her family and her sudden illness is causing more financial problems to a young family that is just starting.

On this past Sunday, October 23, 2022 I had missed calls from Teri Minter-Woods and Michele Minter-Williams . I immediately knew you that something was wrong with someone in the family. I got in touch with Michele and she told me that Jayda been asleep since the day before and that neither Jayda’s husband, Cameron Thrasher or her brother RJ Williams had been able to wake Jayda all day. I immediately got in my car and headed to Jayda’s apartment. When I arrived at Jayda’s apartment she was laying in her bed with her eyes opened. I called her name and she said “huh”, but never turned to look at me. I went to try to and take her pulse oxygen level and touched her back and she was burning up, yet her lips were shivering and she was covered with a blanket. Jayda was very unlike herself, she wasn’t really speaking and she was also being very aggressive and combative which is certainly not her personality at all I told her husband Cameron that I was calling 911 because something was wrong with Jayda. Jayda was not really able to speak except for the word “huh” and she could not state her name or birthday date. Mind you she has been able to tell us these things since she was 2 years old.

When she arrived at the emergency room, vitals and labs are taken and it’s discovered that Jayda has sepsis (severe infection which is usually secondary to another infection) and tachycardia(heart rate average is over 100). She is immediately admitted into the Critical Care Unit and start antibiotic treatment. Doctors assure us that she will start to turn around once she has 24 hours of antibiotics. Nurses and doctors have said that Jayda’s husband Cameron must remain at the hospital with her because he’s the only person who can keep her calm although she doesn’t recognize him. He is and will remain to be her primary care giver.
Lab test are in and the good news that Jayda doesn’t have Covid-19, flu, pneumonia, RSV, or a UTI. So no answers but doctors start to think the infection is bacterial meningitis. Spinal Tab is taken for bacterial meningitis.
On Wednesday, October 26, 2022 after antibiotic and antiviral treatment Jayda finally was able able to state her name and birthdate. Doctors suspect bacterial meningitis, but official diagnosis still unknown.
As of today, Saturday, October 29, 2022 Jayda is still in CCU. After multiple MRI’s and a spinal tap doctors have determined that she does not have bacterial meningitis and so her diagnosis is unknown. Jayda has met with the infectious disease doctor twice. Now that meningitis has officially been ruled out she has not met the infectious disease doctor because she is out of the out office.
Prior to her illness Jayda had 31 hours of time off, she has used those days and will not be paid for any more days. She does not have any supplemental insurance such as short term disability so she is not being paid. She was able to have her FLMA paperwork completed to keep her from being fired from her job. We all know that their is no money tied to FLMA. The hospital has required that Jayda’s husband stay at the hospital with her. So Cameron has not been working and when he calls into work he just misses being paid.

They specifically need:
1. Cameron needs money for food in the hospital cafeteria.
2. November 3rd rent is due
3. Additionally they both have car notes and insurance to pay as well as utilities
