My name is Angela Arrington. My family and I are members at Cornerstone Alliance Church in Roanoke Indiana. God has placed on our hearts to help our community by opening a Christian Childcare Center within the church called Peaceful Waters. It is our heart to bring children, their families, and our community together through the Lord.

My husband Merrell and I have been married 31 years, gifted with three girls and a boy. Merrell is a Marine Veteran. He is currently a Lieutenant on the Fort Wayne Fire Department. I am finishing my degree for Director of Early Childcare & Education. I’ve served in children's ministry for 30 years. We have always had a heart for teaching children and young adults to do everything out of unconditional kindness.

Our home was the house that all the kids came to, especially when there was fear and heartache in their homes. It was such an honor to be a part of that lighthouse in the darkness for those kids. Now that our children and their friends have started their own families, it has become even more important to have that same safe place to go for them.

Our hearts are broken by all the young families in our community that have no one to trust with their needs. Just last week a parent posted on Craigs list, “Please help! I need someone, anyone to come watch my son so I don’t lose my job!” The desperation in this message is heartbreaking. Requests like these are becoming the new normal. We need to do better as Christians and as a community. It is our heart to create a safe and loving environment for those who are struggling. Not only for the children, but for the family as well.

We will be offering low-cost Christian childcare for ages 6wks – 5 years. This will include 2 meals, 2 snacks, diapers, and extended hours. The class sizes will be on the smaller side with extra support staff to ensure adequate attention and safety. We will be offering chapel, gym, music, art, cooking, sewing, STEM, camping, fishing, community service, and missions.

Free parental classes and seminars on the following will be available as well. Prayer & praise, personal growth & reflection, family growth, single parent, postpartum depression, child abuse & neglect, safe sleep practices, anger management, loss & bereavement. It is important not only to love and educate the children we serve, but to encourage the parents' growth as well.

There are currently over 300 kids without care in our area. With these structural changes and updates to Cornerstone, Peacefull Waters will be host to 58 children. It is our intention to get open, get started, pay it forward, and grow in the next two years. We are making plans to add a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, and 8 more classrooms. Our goal is to host twice as many children in the future. We will be able to utilize the gym as a community outreach center, host mission conferences, school aged summer camps, and homeschool athletic events. So many opportunities for our community to come together through Christ and grow.

Unfortunately, we have been hitting one roadblock after another on this journey. It has been a challenge getting funding from grants or lenders due to all the new governmental changes and educational cuts. Our classrooms are in need of required structural changes to open the doors. This cost can be a bit overwhelming. As always, God is faithful, and we will not allow ourselves to become discouraged by these doors closing. We trust it will be Gods timing and not our own that will lead to this ministry's success and the lives it will touch.

We are launching a "50K in 50 DAYS" campaign for our classroom remodel/supplies. This is not all that is needed, but it will allow us to open 3 of the 6 classrooms. This will be an amazing start! It only takes one seed to grow a mighty tree!

Philippians 2: 2-3, "Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourself."
