PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Home Care Nurses are going on strike!

PeaceHealth executives are abandoning local patients and putting their own profits ahead of patients’ needs … AGAIN. From heartlessly closing University District – leaving Eugene without a hospital – to handing corporate executives multimillion dollar raises during the pandemic, PeaceHealth’s corporate executives are cutting your health care again so they can cash in.

Your local ONA nurses at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Home Care Services are standing up to fight back!

The more than 90 nurses from PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Home Care Services voted overwhelmingly to go on strike because of PeaceHealth’s actions.

The strike will begin on February 10, 2024, and we need your support.

Funds generated via the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Home Care Nurse Strike Relief Fund will be used to cover general expenses associated with supporting homecare nurses and our allies on the picket line. That includes, but is not limited to:

• Emergency funding for member needs (including hardship assistance) through ONA’s strike fund

• Food delivery

• Beverage delivery

• Transportation to and from the picket line

• Childcare costs for members and their families walking the line

• Picket line equipment (picket signs, bullhorns, strike captain vests, etc)

• Public awareness efforts such as advertising, social media ads, and other outreach actions

PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Home Care Nurses, who are out on strike, will experience an immediate financial strain...it will also cost them additional funds to participate in the picket line! That’s why ONA is seeking donations for the Sacred Heart Home Care Strike Relief Fund - to help our members during this time of need.

(While we are grateful for community support and support from our labor siblings, ONA will not accept donations from employers, employer-sided labor advisers or consultants, or from anyone who is an agent of an employer or who is acting in the interest of an employer.)

Please note: Donations to the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Homecare Nurse Strike Relief Fund are not tax deductible and excess funds will be reserved for future member needs via the ONA strike fund.
