Peanut’s Surgery & Recovery

Donation protected
Hi all! I know this is a long shot, but my name is Brittany and for those of you who do not know me, my dog is everything to me. His name is Peanut and just turned 4 in July. Unfortunately, he has recently been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and also tore his ACL in which he needs surgery to fix. Peanut and I live on our own and have been on our own since I rescued him back in 2019 as a puppy. He has gotten me through everything life has thrown at me the last few years and I wouldn’t be where I am without his unconditional love. I currently work full time and am also in nursing school full time and barely survive now as it is off of my income. I am desperate and although I am not one to ask for help, Peanut is my world and I will do whatever it takes to get him the treatment that he needs and very well deserves. Being on my own, I unfortunately do not have great credit and have applied for every credit card I could and only got approved for one card with a $300 limit. His surgery could cost up to $6,000 from what I’m being told from the veterinarian, we are waiting for an orthopedic consultation for an official estimate. Plus, the recovery and he is going to need a lot of rehabilitation with the hip dysplasia as well as the knee surgery. I luckily have pet insurance, which will reimburse 90% of covered services, but I still have to pay 10% for the surgery and each visit which is going to add up and insurance takes time to process and for me to get reimbursed. I have to pay up front for the surgery and all visits/any other treatment and then submit a claim with my insurance and wait until the claim is processed. I do not have that kind of money to pay up front and even with payment plans, I am being told by every vet that I have to pay a down payment which is half of the highest estimate for the surgery itself which is a lot of money that I do not have. I currently have everything I have put aside just for him to get the consultation itself and it may not even be enough. I am desperate and anything would help. I know that times are rough for us all, but I have tried everything and have even reached out to foundations and organizations and am out of options at this point. I appreciate any help.
