Pedal Snappers Youth Kinetics
Tax deductible
We are Team Pedal Snappers- a subsidiary dream maker non-profit of the Ink People Center for the Arts. We are an organized group, comprised of high schoolers determined to participate in the Kinetics Grand Championship, a local tradition since 1969 founded by Hobart Brown where engineers and artists come together “To have fun so that kids aren’t afraid to grow up”. Participants create unique mechanized sculptures to race across 50 miles of land, sand, water, and mud all over Humboldt County.
We are working to provide opportunities to young, aspiring engineers and artists considering careers in S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) fields. We aim to increase accessibility by providing foundational experiences, opening the door to otherwise unconsidered futures among the youth in our community. In order to race in the Kinetics Grand Championship/Build a Brand New Sculpture/Set Up a Shop, we must raise at least $12,000 . All money we raise will be used to support the involved youth by purchasing safety equipment, buying and replacing old tools, investing in quality materials, creating artwork, and covering all other expenses involved in the race. As well as the aforementioned expenses.
Unfortunately, as a completely youth-run, youth-lead, and youth-organized group, we have limited access to many resources required for participating in the Kinetics Grand Championship. We have done a considerable amount of fundraiser over the course of this first semester, but without community support it will not be enough to complete our goal.
We are seeking support from individuals and our community to aid our cause, and we accept donations in many forms. We are looking for donations of items for auction, monetary donations, and sponsor donations. Sponsor and monetary donations are tax deductible and donors will receive a receipt for their donation. If you as an artisan or your company would like to donate items for our silent auction, contact us through our website and we can arrange pick up of the items or donation.
Thank you for your attention and consideration.
As ever, for the glory!
