Mandy Groulx, Fort Myers PICU, Hurricane IAN

Charlotte native, Mandy Groulx, spends her days caring for patients in Pediatric ICU as a Child Life Specialist at a Fort Myers Children's Hosptial. She sheltered in place to care for her patients for several days during hurricane Ian. This is her heart's work, and there was no place else she wanted to be. She explains her role to the children and their families in the recent interview below.

As you can see in the above picture, all of the on-site hospital employees lost their cars. While she continues to try and support her co-workers, who lost so much more, she also needs financial support for transportation, as she works more than one job. We're struggling with her insurance company/coverage, and she is going through the process of applying through FEMA, which we expect will be long with little return.
