Funeral and Memorial for Pedro Amezcua-Gonzales

On the afternoon of September 30th , tragedy struck when Pedro Amezcua-Gonzalez was killed by a drunk driver while cycling. Pedro was not only a passionate cyclist but also a family

man who cared deeply for both immediate and extended family. Well known among his

family for his approachable demeanor, he was always willing to listen and if need be, provide

consul to his children and many nieces and nephews. As they would attest, it was almost like

having a second father for them. Not only was he a passionate cyclist, Pedro also was also an

enthusiastic fisherman, always grinning whenever he caught a fish no matter what size it was yet always making sure to practice the utmost care and respect when interacting with wildlife. As passionate as he was for the outdoors, he would always make sure to try to spend time with his family, whether it was helping his son when he was working on his car, taking his daughter to

the beach for the first time, playing games with and hyping up his granddaughters’ achievements, and serenading his wife with romantic songs despite his bad singing. There are so many stories the family has that it would be unfeasible to write them all, yet perhaps the most important thing to know is that he will be dearly missed by so many. Going forward his family has been dealing with the immediate fallout of this senseless tragedy, while also trying to shoulder the financial costs associated with such a tragic death. It is why it is humbly requested of the public that, if possible, they consider making a small donation to assist the family in covering funeral costs, legal costs, bills, and the many other expenses that arise in these situations. No one should have to deal with so many bureaucratic procedures while also grieving the loss of a loved one. Again, any amount you can spare is highly appreciated and guaranteed to go directly to his family. En la tarde del 30 de septiembre, la tragedia golpeó cuando Pedro Amezcua-Gonzalez fue

asesinado por un conductor ebrio mientras andaba en bicicleta. Pedro no solo era un ciclista

apasionado, sino también un hombre de familia que se preocupaba profundamente por toda su

familia inmediata y extendida. Bien conocido entre su familia por su comportamiento accesible,

siempre estaba dispuesto a escuchar y, si era necesario, dar un consejo a sus hijos y muchos

sobrinos y sobrinas. Como atestiguarían, era casi como tener un segundo padre para ellos. No

solo era un ciclista apasionado, Pedro también era un pescador entusiasta, siempre sonriendo

practicar el máximo cuidado y respeto al interactuar con la vida silvestre. Tan apasionado como

era por el aire libre, siempre se aseguraba de tratar de pasar tiempo con su familia, ya fuera

ayudando a su hijo cuando trabajaba en su automóvil, llevando a su hija a la playa por primera

vez, jugando y celebrando los logros personales y académicos de sus nietas, y dando serenatas a su esposa con canciones románticas. Hay tantas historias que la familia tiene que sería imposible ponerlas todas, sin embargo, quizás lo más importante que hay que saber es que muchos lo van a extrañarán. En es momento, su familia ha estado lidiando con las consecuencias inmediatas de esta tragedia sin sentido, al tiempo que trata de asumir los costos financieros asociados con una muerte trágica. Es por eso que se solicita humildemente al público que, si es posible, considere hacer una pequeña donación para ayudar a la familia a cubrir los costos funerarios, los costos legales, las facturas y los muchos otros gastos que surgen en estas situaciones. Nadie debería tener que lidiar con tantos procedimientos burocráticos mientras llora la pérdida de un ser querido, por lo que esta solicitud fue creada por que queremos asegurarnos de que tendrán tiempo para llorar y sanar sin ser constantemente llevados a lidiar con la burocracia que tan a menudo se asocia con este proceso.
