Hello everyone, my name is Priscilla Castillo and I'm starting this fundraiser for my dad Pedro Perez Jr. I never thought in a million years I'd have to do something like this...
But let's talk a little about my dad Pedro or as most of you know him as Nejo. My dad is only 53 yrs old and he's a father to 3 amazing children, myself, "Baby" Pedro/Nejo, and Michael. The one thing he loves for sure is being a father. He is a great dad and an ever better grandpa!! My dad's passion is being an artist in any form from drawing, tagging, playing guitar, singing, and rapping. His rap name was "The Smooth Individual". He is I believe to be considered "Co-EO" of a crew called TDMC. My dad is a man of MANY talents and skills!! His heart is always kind and he'd do his best to see others happy. My dad has 2 dogs Savior and Mamas. He took in mamas from a homeless man that stood near by and passed away. My dad is truly amazing. But unfortunately on November 19, 2023 he was taken into the ER for having abdominal pain. He apparently had a hernia for about 20 yrs and a section of his bowels became strangulated in that hernia causing it to become necrotic. When my dad was admitted the doctors told him he was lucky to have gone in when he did because someone would have found him deceased the following day. My father was now septic at this point and had to have an emergency surgery to try to fix this issue. During the procedure they said my dad had a vomiting episode and aspirated about 5L. He then needed to be taken into the SICU and placed on a ventilator and he was also in shock so they had him on lots of meds. Some of these meds were to help make the blood flow to all his main organs since they beginning to fail. Besides all that my dad was also hypoxic his SPO2 was reading in 60% for almost 24Hrs. Keep in mind your SPO2 should be 95-100%. So he wasn't getting very much oxygen to his brain. Doctors believed my dad was going to pass away. When my brothers got in town the next day his SPO2 shot up to the 80s. Then by the time I got there on Friday (Nov 24th) he started getting into the 90s. When I spoke to my dad for the first time he actually focused on me and we were all shocked and so overjoyed!! My dad has overcome many obstacles during this time. Today, Monday, January 8th, 2024 marks 50 days. And that 50 days has been rough. Since he finally moved into his own room on Dec 17th he has still had a rough time, especially when he first got transferred. Doctors though my dad wasn't going to make it but he had a tracheostomy and is at the point where he can now speak. He is still very ill and has a very long journey to his road to recovery. My dad's most recent surgery was a TMA/ bilateral debridement of both of his feet. They said he should still be able to walk and I'm sure might need like a partial prosthetic to help keep himself balanced. They're also concerned about his hands. So let's keep praying that the dry gangrene somehow gets better or if they have to remove a portion of his hands it's only the tips of his fingers. We all know how much my dad does EVERYTHING with his hands. We're asking for this help to help keep his home and bills paid, as well as food for his dogs, hospital bills and possible prosthetics. If you can donate anything, anything at all that would be truly appreciated. If you can't donate prayers and positive vibes are always needed as well!!! God bless you all!
My dad is still dealing with soo soon much. So the least I can do is try to help him not worry about his home and his outside bulls so this money will be contributed to that and if we can make it up there then we can also help pay off some hospital bills because those costs are adding up daily with all the daily labs that are done.
