Hi, my name is Siddharth Bommekal and I am raising money on behalf of Pragathi for a project providing effective primary eye screening and medical and surgical treatment to elementary school children in rural India. So far we have screened over 50,000 students and are looking to screen 50,000 more by February 2024.

Pragathi is a non-profit organization that has worked to support underprivileged groups since 2004. Pragathi is uniquely positioned in its efforts to provide higher education scholarships for children and empower women to start small businesses. Additionally, Pragathi's donors support projects such as Vanavasi Mobile Health Clinic for Indigenous Population and initiatives that create clean drinking water supplies for rural populations.

Pragathi and the Karnataka Health Ministry will monitor the children from the initial examination through treatment. The whole process only costs one dollar per child treated. What makes this project innovative is that it uses a platform called PEEK Vision that can be downloaded onto a smartphone. PEEK Vision uses the phone's camera to scan the eye of a patient and send images to professionals who then diagnose them remotely.

The app is paired with a camera attachment shown below that allows for more in-depth analysis of a patient's eye.
