Peggy Jo has Stage IV lung cancer.

My name is Jennifer Carpico and it's with a very heavy heart I'm writing this story about my dearest and closest friend, Peggy Jo Ladue Maguire. Sadly Peggy was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer in February of this year. Stage IV is the most advanced cancer because it has spread, (metastasized) to her brain, bones and organs. She found out when she ended up in the ER with collapsed lungs and a broken back. Peggy spent weeks in the hospital, during which she underwent a very lengthy neck/upper back surgery to repair the fractures caused by tumors.

My beautiful, funny, loving friend had already been diagnosed with MS in July of 2022 and doctor's found lesions in her brain and spine. The treatment she had to receive to fight the progression of this disease lowered her immune system, leaving her more suspectable to infection and disease.

I'm sharing her story on the hope of raising funds to hire home health aides to come into her house and help. She is in no way capable to take care of her daily activities due to this horrendous diagnosis of cancer. She lives alone and her primary insurance doesn't cover home care so this was the only way I could think of to help pay for private aides.

Peggy just finished 10 days of brain, spine and hip radiation and the side effects are terrible. She's also obviously in constant pain and is unable to stand for any length of time. She hasn't even started her chemotherapy and has already begun to lose her beautiful blonde hair.

We are very aware of how tough times are for everyone financially, so any small amount you can donate will help tremendously.
