Peggy Sweeney
I've decided to update this as time has flew by so quickly and the time is coming very near now for Peggy to go to London.
Peggy mae Sweeney, born at 31weeks and now 7 months. we should have her home and enjoying life as a family with our newborn but we’re going through 24hours of the unknown everyday. Peggy is ill and has a rare diagnosis of Cloacal malformation and stage 5 kidney failure on both kidneys. This is where she has been born with no front or back passages of her body. This is a life long condition which will need multiple surgery’s in great ormond street in London.
Peggy is having a lot of infections which is damaging her body more. Unsure if they are able to correct anything with these surgery’s in London they won’t know until they try with her.
We’re taking each day as a blessing with her and soaking up the cuddles she’s able to have at the minute with us. The teams in altnagelvin, the royal and great Ormond street have been absolutely amazing with Peggy and us as a family since Peggy has been born and I can’t thank them enough for that.
The reason for needing to do this fundraising is the cost alone of going back and forth to different hospitals and also hotel stays are financially draining, so I've set up a go fund me page for anyone who can help in anyway to allow us as a family to be there for Peggy as and when needed.
Peggy's currently in the royal and will be staying here now long term until she goes to london for her big surgery, the teams are trying to get this done in the next few weeks because Peggy is in extreme pain and even heavy meditation is not helping. we don't see our family on day to day basis because we're far enough away from home so it's extremely difficult especially for my other two children.
this surgery that Peggy is going for will either go one way or the other which is not what any parent wants to hear about their baby, trying to hold a brave face everyday because I have that brave face smiling back at me when she's not in pain.
thank you to everyone for all the calls and texts we are extrmely grateful they havnt gone un noticed. please keep her in your thoughts and if anyone is in saoirse or Andrews company please make them smile ❤️
