Pelican Cove Counseling Center

Tax deductible
Pelican Cove Counseling Center (PCCC) was founded in 2018 with the following mission: Uplift lives in underserved communities with dignity and compassion, building upon a comprehensive framework of sound training and best practices.

We aim to provide long-term psychotherapy to those who cannot otherwise afford such treatment and to establish a solid framework through which therapists in training can establish their careers. The need for mental health care is increasingly obvious and all around us. We believe that this need is pressing and is vital to maintaining healthy communities for everyone.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Pelican Cove will provide mental health services for low- or no-income individuals with mental health needs in the Greater Los Angeles area. PCCC will provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy to those who are seeking open-ended and long-term mental health treatment but wouldn't otherwise be able to receive such treatment due to financial limitations. Direct service will be provided mostly by students in training from Marriage and Family Therapy, Master’s in Social Work, and Doctorate in Psychology programs in Southern California, who will receive excellent training on providing such therapy.

Our model is unique in that PCCC is committed to relying primarily on private donations to finance our operations rather than accepting public funding from sources such as Medicaid or Medi-Cal. The reason for this is simple: we aim to liberate our clients from the type of time-constrained treatment often associated with evidence-based practices, and provide them with the long-term psychotherapy and mental health treatment they need in order to maximize their life's potential. The remainder of our funding will come from a nominal fee we charge our clients in order to ensure that they are as invested in their own personal growth as PCCC is.

Your interest and contribution to our organization will be critical in reaching the goal of opening PCCC's first counseling center in Q1 of 2020. All donations will go towards paying rent on leased office space and funding personnel expenses as it relates to our clinical director, supervisor, training staff and administrative support.

On behalf of PCCC's Board, I would like to thank you for your generosity and support! In very real terms, thank you for giving the gift of happiness and meaning to our clients.
