Penelope's Ectopic Ureter Repair

Hi, my name is Kianna, and this is my and Penelope's story. Eight months ago, my dogs had an accidental litter of puppies. We rehomed all of them, but I fell in love with one of them and knew I had to keep her. (although my boyfriend disagreed) lol. That puppy later became my dog, and her name was Penelope. Penelope is eight months old and has an ectopic uterer, which means a tube that does not connect properly to the bladder, causing urine to leak all over her constantly. When I noticed her leaking urine around four months old, I took her to a vet.The vet said she had a bad UTI and gave me antibiotics. After finishing the antibiotics, she was still leaking urine on herself. I was washing her twice a day and trying to keep diapers on her. The hair on her back legs started deteriorating from the high ph in her urine. I then took her back, and they ran a bunch of different tests and still did not have an answer but gave her another antibiotic in hopes it was just a stubborn UTI. At this point, I already had a lot of money in between the medicine and tests they had run. I waited to recoup some funds before taking her to another vet to get a second opinion.I got that second opinion, and they said it was out of their reach and that I would need to see a specialist. Luckily my aunt helped me get an appointment with the specialist where they did an ultrasound. They determined that Penelope needed surgery and had been in excruciating pain. I was surprised when I was told this because Penelope is the happiest, most playful dog. I got no indication what was wrong with her could be so serious. The specialist said that if I didn't get her the surgery very soon, her kidneys would fail, and she would stay in pain constantly. The specialist said the surgery would be roughly $6,000-$7,000, unfortunately the surgery costs more than I can afford right now. I would be devastated if I had to put her down. Penelope is so full of life, and her life has just begun. Please help me get my sweet baby this surgery. She is my best friend, and I can't imagine living life without her.
