PENNY’S STORY
Very recently we received an emergency call from one of our wonderful fosters who happens to also work for a veterinary hospital.
We were asked to help yet another medical emergency baby! Although we knew our resources were stretched we had to find our more, and when we did our hearts broke.
Penny, a 3-year-old Yorkie, has spent the majority of her life neglected and abused.
Her “owners” brought her to the vets with severe ear infections which had been neglected for so long that her ear canals are swollen shut.
This does not happen overnight, Penny has been like this for her entire life, never getting the care she deserved, and now this is the outcome. Unsurprisingly enough, she was also unspayed and matted. Rather than help Penny, the owners left her with a vet and the request of euthanasia. Our foster contacted us as soon as this happened.
Here was where we come in, IF we agreed to take Penny and provide her the care she needed, the vet would release her to us and she would go into foster until we can raise enough funds for surgery.
This was an instant life or death decision!
What could we do? We knew were financially overwhelmed with other cases but we could not fail her! Not again! Penny deserved a chance at a life without neglect.
We have no idea the extent of care she will need, what we do know is we get her appt scheduled ASAP. Your donations will go towards bloodwork, the extensive surgery to open her ear canals and see what damage has been done, and also her spaying.
We hope her ear drums are intact but we simply don’t know.
Throughout all of this, even though she is in pain, Penny remains a loving little girl, she has no idea what is going on!
But we need help!
We can’t not provide care for dogs like Penny without financial support from our wonderful, dedicated donors!

She was saved and will not to be failed again but we are in desperate need of your generous donations now!
