PennyJo Morris

Many within the community recognize PennyJo's name. She was recognized as a daughter, sister, mother, mimi, aunt, cousin, friend, and teacher. She bravely fought a five and a half year long battle against metastatic breast cancer, defying many odds and determining to find the joy in her journey.

Along the way, not only did she find joy for herself, but she brought that joy to others. She was often recognized as an incredibly supportive teacher, giving her all to the students at Chesterton High School. The CHS community and students brought light into her dark battle and she loved them dearly.

PennyJo often worried that people would forget about her, afraid the difference she was making would end once the breath in her lungs was gone. Therefore, in remembrance of her love for CHS, we are asking for funds to be donated to a scholarship fund for CHS students, in lieu of sending flowers to her memorial service.

All proceeds raised will be given to CHS for a scholarship fund for CHS students who could and would benefit from it. We know she would love to help students one more time.

Thank you for the love you showed PennyJo throughout the years. You all made her journey just a little bit easier.
