Penny's medical Expenses and flights
Donation protected
Hi Family (familia) & Friends (amigos), It’s been roughly ten weeks now since we got the shocking news that my Carolina’s daughter Penny had been diagnosed with bone cancer. Not knowing the severity of the situation and being so far away from her Peruvian family my love put her life on hold to fly to Peru and be by Penny’s side. “Penny” is only 27 years old and needed the best treatment possible to remove the bone cancer in her jaw. The oncologist and his team moved quickly to set up and organise for Penny to have the best chance and operated on the 27th of June. The operation took 12 hours, they removed part of her jawbone and lymph nodes in her neck. While the team were working on Penny’s jaw another team of surgeons work on her leg to remove bone and tissue to do the reconstructive work. The poor love came out of surgery into ICU in an induced coma for 72 hours. All my Peruvian family were at the hospital by my loves side praying that she was going to be cancer free and have a speedy recovery. They had good news from the surgeon after the operation was complete that the cancer wasn’t into a lot of the tissue surrounding the bone.
This has all happened so fast with it starting when Penny was having trouble with her wisdom tooth. The dentist removed the tooth and a cancerous tumour grow within weeks in the cavity site. We are about 10 weeks now from the start and of all our world all been turned upside down.
Penny came out of ICU onto the ward at the (Clinic) hospital in Mira Flores on the 3rd of July pictured below on the ward.
Penny is now home and doing well. Today was her first visit back to the hospital to start the long road to recovery with chemo and radiation therapy. She will also need rehabilitation on the leg which the bone and tissue was been removed, for plastic surgery.
We are all behind you Penny and know you are a strong woman and will not let the road ahead with lots of bumps, beat you.
Please if you can help us with a little donation, we would greatly appreciate your help to make sure our girl is able to have a long happy and healthy future. As we don’t have any health insurance in Peru and the costs to cover all have mounted very quickly.
Although Carolina is always in my heart it would be fantastic for me to be able to spend some time with her and the family in Peru and give my love the support she needs.
Thank you in advance
