Penny’s send off

This page has been set up to make sure Penny gets the send-off she deserves.

This is Peninah Betsy K. Amooti, known to many as Penny. Her life was tragically cut short on Thursday 27th of May 2021 when she was stabbed to death by a lodger at her residence on Park Road, Cheam Village, UK.


Emergency services including London Air Ambulance were called to the property by her neighbors and made every effort to revive her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Penny suffered multiple injuries and stab wounds. A murder investigation has been launched and the suspected attacker remains in police custody.

This tragedy has caused tremendous hurt and indescribable pain to Penny’s family and many friends across the globe.


Penny was a kind, giving, loving , respected and wonderful individual. Her tragic loss has been a shock to  the community and all those who knew her. To the world, Penny is another tragedy, but to many of us she was a daughter, mum, an aunt, sister, friend, and colleague.

Her family and friends are outraged by her murder and will fight to ensure justice is served.

This unimaginable loss comes during an already challenging time. This page has been set up to make sure that Penny is repatriated to Uganda, so that her family can properly say goodbye.

We are looking to raise as much money as possible in the next few weeks to be able to accord our beloved Penny a decent send- off by meeting funeral expenses both in the UK and Uganda.
