Peony's Facial Feminization

Hello, my name is Rebecca and I'm starting this fundraiser on behalf of my partner Peony! Funds will go to Peony to affirm her gender and help her decrease gender dysphoria. She's a trans woman three years into hormone replacement therapy hoping to further her transition surgically. Her Medicaid insurance pays for her gender affirming medication, but like almost all insurance, it doesn't cover hair removal or facial feminization surgery (FFS). There are multiple gender affirming facial surgeries and related procedures that trans or gender diverse people may choose to get to relieve gender dysphoria. This is something Peony really wants for herself. Out of pocket FFS can cost upwards of $40,000!! This amount of money is completely out of reach for her and most trans individuals who have enormous barriers to stable income let alone disposable income. This is Peony's first fundraiser and she is hoping to start with the less expensive procedures of facial hair removal and a lip lift. Permanent hair removal for an entire face takes multiple sessions a month for a year or more-- at $100 a session minimum, this often adds up to around $3000. A lip lift surgery to give a more traditionally "feminine" look costs a similar amount.
