Homeless Veterans Need Your Help!

Donation protected
The ASID UCLA Extension Student Chapter is currently in the fundraising stage of our community service project, to fix the bathrooms at the PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) facilities in West LA. The Facility is a safe haven for veterans that have found themselves homeless due to mental illness, PTSD, and disabilities. PATH's West LA location is in need of our help! The bathrooms these veterans are using are in major need of a renovation! Our goal is to raise our target amount by the end of May.

Who We Are

We are students enrolled in the UCLA Extension Interior Architecture certificate program, and Cal Poly Pomona/UCLA Extension Masters Students. We are also all members of the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Student Chapter, a multi-disciplinary professional organization for interior designers.

As a group, we believe design impacts lives. Every year we seek a community service project and are honored to be working with PATH this year. The majority of the homeless people residing at this long-term housing facility are veterans. We believe that redesigning and remodeling their facilities will greatly improve the comfort level and quality of life of the veterans while they reside there.

What We Need From You

We need your help raising funds to improve the living conditions for the veterans residing at the PATH facility! PATH has told us their biggest concern, for the quality of life of these veterans would be to have the bathrooms fully renovated. We are already so lucky and thrilled to announce that the construction and renovation labor fees have been generously donated by GAP Construction, and Behr Paint will be donating and supporting all of our paint needs.

However, we are still needing to raise money for the building materials, new tiles for the bathroom and showers, as well as sinks, toilets, shower head fixtures and new towels and personal care products.

Currently the bathrooms are extremely run down. PATH has expressed a great desire to have us focus all of our efforts on fixing these bathrooms to help improve the lives of these veterans! We have until the end of May to raise the money to renovate the bathrooms and we really need your help!

Through community building and outreach we strive to advance the interior design profession and demonstrate the power of design to positively change people’s lives.
