On April 24th, 2021, Parris Bowens passed away due to complications from COVID-19.
Parris’ love for people, generosity, humility, artistic gifting, and musical prowess were unparalleled. We are all discovering, simultaneously, during this age of social media, just how far-reaching his love was. Parris’ heart and music have had worldwide influence and have blessed everyone who has ever had the privilege of spending any amount of time in his presence. For those who loved him and knew him intimately, he was a devoted husband and loving father, first and foremost. His absence has left an indelible void in all of our hearts, especially in the hearts of his family. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Dionne, and two precious young sons, Matthew and Patrick, one of whom has special needs and requires special care around-the-clock. Parris and Dionne were an incredible team that each worked different shifts while the other stayed home to care for their son. It is no longer possible for Dionne to hold a job because her other half is no longer here to care for their sons while she works.
During this time of intense grief, we would like to demonstrate our love by providing as much financial support as possible for Parris' family. We want to ensure that Dionne is able to focus on her and her childrens’ emotional healing without having to worry about making ends meet for a while. Whatever amount you can give, no matter how small or large, is greatly appreciated. And if you cannot donate at this moment, please share this story to allow others to learn of the impact that Parris had on so many lives and to heighten awareness for the financial need.
