People In Need - COVID19 Food Insecurity Campaign
Donation protected
The goal of our food insecurity program is to serve the extremely vulnerable population - elderly, the undocumented, single moms & the low income group. Each supply family care-box has items worth $50 & weighs around 60 pounds. It provides 2 weeks supply of culturally appropriate grocery items & essentials for a family size of 5 people.
Local volunteers are providing home delivery services of grocery & essentials to the old people, people with special needs, single moms and families in quarantine while families with low income can pick-up groceries and essentials from our local distribution location at 964, Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11230.
The funds raised from this GoFundme campaign will go directly to the organization “People In Need”. 100% of the fund will be used to purchase grocery and other essentials to be distributed among the families in need.
Co-founded by Nowshin Ali and Anurag Mahohar Shrivastava in the year 2016, “People In Need” has been working with low-income immigrant families, specifically in Kensington, Brooklyn.
Nowshin Ali, being the Parents Association Co-president in the local elementary public school, PS 217 and being fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu and Bengali, personally interprets and advocates for immigrant mothers & families of the community. The organization also organizes a sliding scale after school homework help program, summer program, annual winter clothing drives, school supply drive, book drive etc.
Please donate and support us so that we can support the ones in need.
