Running for Charities
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Adam, In April next year I am running the Manchester Marathon.
This will be my first time running a marathon so I’ve decided to get the training in early.
I am currently raising for four different charities;
- Dementia UK- Ive always felt deeply saddened by the stories I hear about dementia and the harm it causes. I’ve recently only just experienced dementia, with my girlfriends nan suffering from it, ever since I met her I witnessed first hand how it affects families.
- Great Ormond Street Hospital (Gosh)- this is a very important charity as I work with children and nothing saddens me more than children who are not very well during the Christmas holiday or in general. The idea children are sat in hospital beds on Christmas Day breaks my heart.
- Breast Cancer Awareness- this one is close to my heart, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2021 but thankfully she beat it because she’s a super hero! She’s my inspiration..
- Community Embrace Harlow- this is a charity that’s much smaller but is a non profit organisation that my girlfriend is an ambassador of! The charity gives back to all the people who need it in the community of harlow. They hold free events for the community. They run and food and hygiene bank and are currently saving up for a work charity van, so anything donated will help them.
All these charities mean a lot to me so that’s why I’ve chosen to raise money for them. Each charity will get 25% of the total donations pot.
I aim to run the Marathon under 4 hours! So any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! See you in April
