People's Pantry Subsidied Food Operating Budget

When LoveThyNeighbor became aware of the financial challenges our local Toms River subsidized food pantry was not funded for 2020, we decided to do something to keep it open.
Since 2013 The Peoples Pantry in Toms River NJ has currently serving on average, 5,000 of our neighbors, proudly receiving 120,000 lbs. of food donations and collecting 1400 volunteer hours monthly. The center is conveniently located at the B.E.A.T. Center in Silverton.
In August 2013 the Jon Bon Jovi Foundation partnered with the People's Panty and together an agreement with the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties joined together to bring these much needed services to the community. A Capital campaign was launched with the understanding that we would raise enough funding for a build out and expenses for 10 years. Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the required goal. They were notified in April that funding for our store operations will no longer be available to us after July 1, 2019.
On average monthly they provide service to 4,000 residents of the area. They record over 1000 volunteer hours and distribute 150,000 pounds of mostly donated food. In addition, they connect nearly 500 clients to other services monthly, including food stamps, education, transportation, health insurance and wellness providers.
As a community, we are taking upon ourselves the responsibly to raise money to cover the $160,000 annual operating budget of the People's Pantry. It is legally called "Inspire-NJ A NJ Nonprofit Corp", and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to so many.
