Pepper’s Fight Against Sepsis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Autumn. I am fundraising for my dog, Pepper. As we speak, Pepper is fighting for her life in critical care. My heart and soul. My best friend. The dog who made me a rescue volunteer, who reignited my fostering journey. On September 10, 2022, we rescued our girl from Stanislaus Animal Services Agency after Pack Lyfe Rescue so graciously agreed to save her life 30 minutes before she was to be euthanized. She found a home that day with us— the forever kind— even if we didn’t know it quite yet. I took her to the ER yesterday for extreme weakness and lethargy, and now there’s a chance that she won’t walk out. We knew Pepper wasn’t feeling well, but we were working with her doctors to fix her feet, which have been infected on and off for the better part of 1.5 years. We were looking in all the wrong places.
Pepper has sepsis. Her organs are in shock (chem panel attached), and her body is starting to give up the fight. We have been told she has a 50/50 chance of making it out in her current state. Pepper has never given up, and we will not be giving up on her behalf. I am willing to do whatever it takes to bring her home. I miss her. Her dad misses her. We all need her here.
I hate asking for help and will go through great lengths to avoid it. I cannot avoid this. I will do anything to save my girl, but it is costing a small fortune. I’ve attached the estimate, but she is expected to exceed even the high end: formerly $13,551, now over $15,000 and climbing. I know it’s the holiday season and a very expensive time of year, but if you have anything to spare, I am asking— begging— you to consider the gift of helping me bring Pepper home.
