PERIOD POVERTY- MISS AFRICA AMERICA

Hello, my name is Esena. I'm raising funds for period poverty. Period poverty is defined as having inadequate access to resources for period hygiene, education, and supplies such as sanitary products, washing facilities, water disposal, and menstrual hygiene education. This causes girls to miss one or more days of school due to their periods, which has a severe impact on their education. Furthermore, inadequate hygiene during menstruation can result in major health problems such as reproductive and urinary tract infections, thrush, and others.

As I run for Miss Africa America, I hope to use my platform to raise awareness about period poverty and assist millions of girls and families who face these issues on a daily basis! The funds will be used to assist women and girls experiencing these challenges. The funds will also be used to support a charity called Such a Time in Ghana, which focuses on period poverty and empowering young women.

#Sanitary pads are not a Luxury but a NECESSITY!!

Let us help our girls become aware of and educated about their menstrual cycle, as well as know what to do when they get their periods and, most importantly, have access to free sanitary pads. Today, you may aid a daughter, sister, mother, or friend.
