Help 2,500 Girls Stay in School with Period Panties!

Donation protected
I’m Victoria Boston, a believer and advocate for women’s equity. And today I am on a mission:

‼️MY GOAL is to provide 2,500 girls with 3 pairs of period panties each! And YOU can help me reach it!

During my visit to Kenya in the fall of 2023, I met a group of high school girls facing an unimaginable challenge—missing five to seven days of school every month simply because they didn’t have access to menstrual supplies. Falling behind wasn’t a matter of ability but of access.
While speaking at a women’s empowerment summit hosted by CareerBox Africa, I listened to their stories.
Bright, determined, full of dreams—yet forced to stay home from school and work because of something as natural as their cycle.
Some used rags, newspapers, or nothing at all. The shame, the isolation, the lost opportunities—it broke my heart. I knew I couldn’t walk away without doing something.

‼️Since that moment, I’ve been on a mission to provide reusable period panties to as many students as possible! These sustainable solutions will empower girls to stay in school, focus on their education, and build the futures they deserve.

Because no girl should have to choose between her dignity and her education.

What Are Period Panties?

Period panties are an innovative, reusable solution for menstrual care. Designed with built-in absorbent layers, they replace disposable pads and tampons or provide extra protection when used with other products.
They are leak-proof, washable, and last for years, making them a safe, sustainable, and dignified alternative for girls who lack access to traditional menstrual supplies.

The Impact of Menstrual Health on Education:

Menstrual health is a basic human need, yet for millions of girls in Africa and India, it remains an insurmountable barrier to their education and future success. In Africa, an estimated 84% of adolescent girls miss school during their menstrual cycle due to the lack of access to menstrual products. This absenteeism can result in missing up to 7 days of school per month, causing them to fall behind in their studies and limiting their ability to succeed academically. The problem is even more severe in rural areas, where access to health education and resources is often scarce. As a result, these girls face a bleak future, with reduced opportunities for employment and personal growth, perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

In India, menstruation is not only a health issue but a cultural stigma. Many girls face deep-seated taboos that label them as "impure" or "dirty" during their menstrual cycle, which leads to isolation and a lack of access to adequate resources. As a result, many girls miss up to 50 days of school every year because they don’t have menstrual supplies, and the cultural stigma prevents them from seeking help. This absence from school limits their education, future career opportunities, and overall quality of life.

The lack of access to menstrual products affects more than just school attendance—it directly impacts a girl's future. When girls miss school due to menstruation, they fall behind academically, which often leads to higher dropout rates. In fact, research shows that menstrual health problems are one of the leading causes of absenteeism among girls in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. This is a major contributor to the 30% unemployment rate for women in Africa, where many girls never get the chance to complete their education and pursue their careers.

Why This Cause Matters:

The reusable period panties we are providing offer a sustainable solution to this widespread issue. These products ensure that girls have access to a reliable and long-lasting way to manage their menstrual cycles without interruption, which means they can stay in school, continue their education, and build the future they deserve.

Unlike disposable products, reusable period panties are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly, providing a long-term solution to menstrual care that goes far beyond just one cycle.

By partnering with organizations like CareerBox Africa and Bloom India, we are able to directly impact the lives of 2,500 girls. These organizations have extensive networks and experience in working with underserved communities, ensuring that the menstrual supplies reach the girls who need them the most. This initiative not only tackles menstrual health but also supports education, empowerment, and the future of young women across these regions.

Every donation you make helps break the cycle of absenteeism and empowers a young girl to stay in school. By giving her the tools she needs to manage her menstrual health, you’re giving her the opportunity to pursue her dreams and build a brighter future. Together, we can make a life-changing impact, ensuring that girls around the world don’t miss out on their education because of something as natural as their menstrual cycle.
