Periods during COVID-19 Lockdown in Pakistan
Doação protegida
Help us serve Pakistani menstruators during this pandemic. During this quarantine, a lot of daily wage workers are struggling to make ends meet. In the time of crisis, menstrual needs are often neglected and girls and women have to menstruate without hygienic products. HER Pakistan is serving menstruators who cannot afford menstrual products during this quarantine to ensure safe and healthy period.
You can ensure that a girl has period products for 4 months for as little as USD 10.
Please remember periods do not stop for a pandemic and someone out there may not have the resources to buy a period product. Let's help those who need us in this challenging time.
HER Pakistan is a not-for-profit organization that aims to transform girls, women, boys and men into healthy, empowered and resilient individuals to face the world with more confidence by providing them with knowledge and skills that enable them to create a safe and healthy future.
Currently HER Pakistan is working on three projects:
1) Menstrual Hygiene Drives:
We organize awareness sessions in the heart of the underprivileged communities, where we meet women of all ages and backgrounds to discuss the natural transition from girlhood to womanhood, menstrual hygiene management, puberty and associated physical, emotional, and behavioral changes.
2) School Puberty Education program:
School Puberty Education program helps prepare young boys and girls for puberty and menstruation early on. I have designed the entire school program in such a way that all the content delivered is age and cultural appropriate with the help of fellow SRH trained professionals. The program also educates parents and teachers simultaneously for a holistic learning.
3) Oh My Period!:
Oh My Period!, a digital community on Facebook for women to talk about everything related to menstruation, to learn from each other's experiences and help each other to have a more pleasant period. The aim is to create a period-friendly space where everyone can talk about their period freely and ask questions without being judged.
Since May 2018, HER Pakistan has impacted about 1500 lives in 10 communities & eight schools. Our online group serves 8,500+ girls & women all over the world with menstruation support every day. All HER Pakistan activities are crowdfunded. We have also been able to achieve our goals through partnerships and collaborations.
