#PERIODSDONTSTOP: Supporting Girls in Tanzania

Imagine you’re a young girl working on your education. You’re motivated, you’re excited, you love school and learning. You have big dreams! Whether it's to become a teacher, a doctor, engineer, or even a lawyer - there’s something preventable standing in your way - menstruation.  The cost? Missing 3-5 days of school a month due to your period, putting you at an extreme disadvantage to your male counterparts. Simply because you were born female, you’ll be thrown off track, and delayed in your studies resulting in frustration and potentially decreased motivation, hindering you from achieving your dreams and reaching your highest potential.
 
But YOU can help make this scenario a thing of the past. Model, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Flaviana Matata is making change through her 501 (c) 3 registered non-profit Flaviana Matata Foundation (FMF) which supports these girls through a myriad of channels ensuring they stay in school.

This holiday season, the Flaviana Matata Foundation in partnership with Burnett New York is launching a social initiative #PERIODSDONTSTOP, where people like you can “donate a period” and help a girl in Tanzania bypass period poverty and prevail.
