Perry Baker Team USA Rugby 7s

Perry Baker was born and raised in the Daytona Beach Area.  Perry played Football, Basketball, and Track at Spruce Creek High School in the Daytona Beach Area, 4 years of College Football at Farimont University in WV, signed by the NFL Philadelphia Eagles, and played 2 years with the Pittsburgh Power in the AFL.  Perry now is on the verge of becoming an Olympian and becoming another Daytona Beach native to represent team USA in 2016 in Brazil playing Rugby.  Perry has played a little rugby over the years while he was pursuing a career in football.  However from day one in 2005 fresh out of high school Perry was a natural at Rugby.  His explosiveness with ball in hand and the space on a full size rugby field compared to a football field makes Perry almost unfair to the opposition.  Perry helped Daytona Beach Rugby place 3 times in the top ten Nationally.  Then for over a year he was playing and training full time for Rugby in Columbus Ohio.  Perry in 2013 and 2014 toured the world playing rugby, making a name for himself withTiger Rugby in Denver, New York, Shanghai China, Melrose Scotland, Houston, Cancun Mexico, and Seattle.  Then on the weekend of July 17th 2014 Perry attended a special selection camp at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego to compete for a spot on team USA.  Perry was strong fit and ready and impressed the selection committee, he was offered 1 of 15 contracts with USA rugby to live and train full time at the OTC later that week.

Training full time and playing year in an amatuer sport round makes it difficult to support one-self.  Daytona Beach Rugby would like to help Perry live the Olympic Dream to compete for his country and represent the Daytona Beach Rugby, Florida Rugby and the Daytona Beach Area.  We would like to help Perry out for the next two years to make ends meet and allow him to focus on training every day, and not worry how to pay the bills.  Can you please help us help Perry!
