Perry's Hospital Bills

Donation protected
Hello everyone!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. As of recent, our boy Perry has been in and out of the ER trying to figure out what was wrong before finally being admitted to the hospital.

Initially, he went in for some neck pain and given he had prior history with head trauma and seizures, the doctors decided to do an MRI to check his neck, and then check his brain for any tumors and/or infections that may be present. They then decided to do a spinal tap to check for infection based on what they saw off the MRI. At the time, no infections nor tumors were present, which was good news! However, on February 8th we had to make another trip to the ER as he could not keep food or water down. By February 10th, his condition had worsened and was having trouble walking, refused to eat, barely drank of his own will, and we were having to give water via oral syringe at this point to keep him hydrated.

Something was majorly wrong. We were told to follow up with the neurologist on Monday (February 12th). On Monday, we were advised to bring him in to the hospital to be admitted. By this point, he had deteriorated so much that he was unable to stand or keep his head up at all. When he was admitted to the hospital, we were told he was in critical condition. His heart rate and blood pressure were extremely low, he could not regulate his internal body temperature, and the doctor's prognosis was a 50/50 chance at this point given his vitals. Based on his symptoms, the doctor's decided to run a specialized test to check for Addison's Disease, and on February 13th, the results confirmed that he does in fact have Addison's Disease.

After two days of intensive treatment in the hospital, he pulled through and was well enough to be released on Valentine's Day. He will now need to be on daily medication and monthly injections for the rest of his life, but thankfully this disease is manageable long-term.

However, the cost of Perry's life-saving treatment was more weight than we can bear. Unfortunately, due to him having pre-existing conditions, he is ineligible for pet insurance coverage. The total cost of his treatment came to a whopping $10,721.12. It is with a humble heart that we have to ask for assistance with the expenses of his treatment. If you can find it in your heart to donate even a dollar to assist with his bills, we would be eternally grateful. This is a very hard and embarrassing decision to make, but sometimes we have no choice but to humble ourselves and ask for help.

Attached are three of the most expensive invoices from Perry's visits.

Thank you all again for your consideration during this challenging time.
