SF Shanghai Association
The SF-Shanghai association is an organization with the goal of outreach within the Asian community and fostering relationships between the members of the community. Recently, the uptick in anti-Asian hate crimes has sparked a growing concern for the safety of our elders, women, and children in the community, particularly in the Portola neighborhood. The SFPD has issued patrols in the area but is not able to protect the community 24/7. In response to this concern, the SF-Shanghai association is organizing a fundraiser to purchase personal safety alarms to distribute around the neighborhood to low-income housing, senior homes, and small businesses in order to better protect our community. This is part of a larger plan that may grow to include door and window alarms, as many people in the neighborhood don’t have home security systems. The Association plans on holding presentations and conferences where they will explain how to use the alarms, which are only one inch long but can be heard throughout the neighborhood.
The SF- Shanghai Association is registered as a 501 (C)(3) non-profit and 100% of your donation could qualify.
