In Memory of Matt Clinger Help Fulfill a Dream

This is the Clinger Family. Brynn and Matt have 5 wonderful kids. Matt passed away almost 2 years ago from an extremely rare form of Cancer called Extraskeletal Osteosarcoma. Matt was an Architect at MHTN Architects for 15 years. From architecture school until he passed away. He worked as an Architect on Temples for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which he loved. His biggest project was the Temple in Arequipa Peru and was also the Project Manager for the new Lima Peru Temple until his passing. These projects had him traveling to Peru for one week almost every month for about 3 years. During these trips he fell in love with the country, the people, and of course in true Matt fashion he fell in love with the food! Matt spoke fluent Spanish, after serving his mission in Venezuela, which was a great asset on these projects. Peru became a special place for The Clinger Family. Their kids loved hearing all about his trips to Peru. The people he met and all of the adventures he had there. Matt and Brynn always dreamed of taking their whole family to Peru when both Temples were completed.

Another reason Peru is special to this family is because Brynn's Dad Jim Pedersen served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Peru. Jim fell in love with Peru and mostly the people. He made life-long relationships while on his mission. Jim and his wife were planning on traveling back to Peru with Matt and Brynn’s family. Brynn's Dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer 8 months after Matt. Unfortunately, he too lost his battle with cancer only 6 months after Matt. They went through their whole cancer fight together.

Brynn has been and continues to be a rock through all of this! She has suffered tremendous loss (her Mom, Dad and her husband to Cancer) and yet is such a strong and amazing woman. She is a working Mom who juggles her 5 kid’s schedule like a pro! Her kids are her world and sacrifices a ton for them. It is really hard for Brynn to ask for help. That’s why we are doing this for her.

We would love to help Brynn fulfill her and Matt's dream of taking their kids to Peru and showing them the country that has touched their hearts so much. They will be able to go see the Temples that Matt worked on and meet so many people who became like family to Matt over the years! If you could help us we would really appreciate it! Thank you!
