Pet Lovers United, Bring Our Pets Home

Hello, my name is Kali Williams, I am one of the many victims who had my animals stolen and murdered by Michael Turland. Turland and his girlfriend/accomplice, Brooklynn Beck resided previously in Utah, Surprise, Arizona, Golden Valley, Arizona and more recently, Central Lake, Michigan.

I know quite a few of you have heard of the massive animal abuse case out of Golden Valley, Arizona in March of 2022, where 184 animals were found frozen alive in Turland and Beck’s home freezer. His girlfriend, Brooklynn Beck, was also picked up at their new home in Central Lake, Michigan after police received video footage of her and Turland killing a client's dog at one of the grooming salons they worked at in Grand Traverse. Once an investigation began, authorities seized over 200 animals from their home Michigan home, in terrible shape and this happened over a very short time span of five months. Of the over 200 animals seized sadly, only 106 of them survived long enough to receive veterinary care.

Brooklynn Beck was court-ordered to relinquish ownership of all animals seized in Michigan, to the county shelter on Thursday, October 27, 2022. This was after all surviving animals spent six months in the care of animal control. You can imagine my overwhelming joy when the next day, myself and others, were informed that a handful of our pets were alive! After having my other animals killed by these disgusting individuals, I am beyond grateful that even one of them survived. 

The animals will all be released to my care after they are vetted one last time and given a wellness exam. Many of these animals will need further nursing once brought back to Arizona but right now, the biggest concern I have, is finding the resources needed to get to them and bring them back. At this point in time, the Antrim County Animal shelter is asking a fee for each of the animals set to be picked up including those that were stolen. (This small county went above and beyond their allotted yearly budget to take in so many animals overnight and has gone beyond the call of duty to treat and care for these animals to this point.)

The Antrim County Animal Shelter is asking $2,900 in adoption fees for all the animals I am planning on transporting back out here to Arizona. The Veterinary Clinic is asking for $1,210 in wellness exam fees and health certificates, bringing our total to $4,110. I, along with other pet owners, are hoping to bring their pets home and willing to do all it takes to get all of these precious and much missed animals’ home to their families and started on their road to recovery. The animal care will be manageable once they are all home, but this initial rescue mission needs all the help it can get!

Myself and a few friends have estimated the cost of fuel to drive a truck from Arizona to Michigan, and back, with an appropriate trailer to transport these animals is going to be well over $2,000. This is no small task and going to take a lot of drive time and manpower to pull off.

I have been extremely humbled with finding out that I have an amazing animal community behind me and to know they have all been hoping to see these animals reunited with their people and brought back to health just as badly as I do. No amount of threats or harassment against the victims in this case by friends and accomplices of these two monsters will stop us from bringing these defenseless animals home for good!
