Pet Portraits for Families Who Lost Their Dogs
Donation protected
Hi all — last night, September 18th, a fire broke out at a pet resort in Georgetown, TX (just 30 minutes outside of Austin) with approximately 75 dogs inside. Despite the quick response from the fire department, all 75 lives inside were lost. And there are many families experiencing the worst loss a pet parent can possibly imagine.
I'm raising money to commission pet portraits for all 75 dogs — pending the owners' consent — to be able to give something to the families to help them get through this absolutely heartbreaking tragedy. A little something to remember the 75 lives lost and to bring just a little bit of joy into the lives of those who loved them most.
Why me? Because why not. I'm a dog mom to three incredible pups that I adore with my whole heart. I worked in the pet industry for 9+ years. I'm a part of the pet community here in Austin. And I can't even begin to imagine the heartbreak that these families are currently experiencing.
All of the money raised will go to paying for the artists who create the paintings. Any donations left over will be donated to a local rescue in honor of the dogs lost.
