Hello, Dear Friends and Family,
As some of you may know I have always been extremely nearsighted in my right eye. Great for reading in bed! In 1992 I had RK (where they slice your eye like pizza) in my GOOD eye, which also needed correction, so that I could drive without glasses. It was great. However, now I have lost the vision in that eye due to a cataract. "Many of the patients who had radial keratotomy surgery in the ’80s and ’90s are now developing visually significant cataracts." At this point there is no way I can drive or recognize people on the street. It's like looking through cheese cloth.
Here in Mexico I can get the surgery to not only remove the cataract but also replace the lens by an extremely competent and highly recommended surgeon for $1600. Earning and living day to day by Grace, I do not have the resources to do this. After prayer asking if I should overcome my resistance and dare to ask for some help, here I am.
Anything will help and will also get the flow going towards my taking care of this. It is hard to ask for myself but not being able to see is not the right choice.
