I'm Pete Bloomer - a lifelong activist, trade unionist and a proud member of our local community for over 20 years. I have dedicated my life to fighting injustice and advocating for those facing poverty and inequalities.

As an independent candidate for Bournbrook and Selly Park, I stand against the incompetence and mismanagement of the Labour leadership in Birmingham City Council. I oppose Labour and the Conservative Party's disgraceful position on the genocide and oppression taking place in Gaza.

My commitment to our community extends beyond my personal life - passionately campaigning from defending our NHS against privatisation to advocating for workers' rights in the homeless services sector.

My commitments to the residents of Bournbrook and Selly Park:

1. I will be a strong voice for you and hold regular open meetings to hear your concerns.

2. I will oppose all cuts to our vital services.

3. I will campaign for more social housing to be built to end homelessness.

4. I will defend students’ rights to fair rents and contracts, and expose exploitative landlords.

5. I will support and promote green initiatives to protect our green spaces, improve air quality and address the flooding in our area.

Join me in standing against substandard leadership, inequality and oppression. It's time for change. It's time to put Bournbrook and Selly Park first.
