Loving; husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Pete Hernandez was all of these things and more. There isn't one person who has crossed Pete's path and hasn't been influenced or touched by his love, generoisty, and sense of humor.
Born January 29, 1950, Pete served for the Navy, San Diego Police Department, and Redlands Police Department until the age of 45. He was forced to retire due to a back injury and a heart attack. Pete struggled with a heart condition for many years. His heart for most of the time only worked at 10%. He continued to have heart failure for the next 15 years. To make ends meet for his family, he acquired a job as an Armed Security Guard. Here he had another heart attack. They were able to revive his heart after several minutes with no pulse. After waking up from a two week coma, he finally agreed to have a pace maker. Five years later after replacing his pace maker, he recieved the news of having Lymphoma cancer. He underwent chemotherapy but could only recieve half treatment due to his weak heart. In this time he exprienced many complications which ultimately led to a more than difficult battle.
June 26, 2015 in the early A.M. the Lord decided it was Pete's time to come home. He leaves behind his wife, four childern, and six grandchildern. He fought to get well until the very end. All he wanted was to be healty in order to be there for his family.
I ask of you to find it in your heart and help his wife and childern with donations to fund a portion of his funeral services. He served our country and local citizens. This is our time to serve a mighty man of God.
