Peter and Jennifer Serpa - Cancer Treatment

February 5th, 2024 Update

Firstly, the Serpa family are overwhelmingly thankful for everyone's kindness. Seeing the GoFundMe support has alleviated stress and allowed the focus to be on Pete's cancer fight.

As of last night, February 4th, Peter has had some serious challenges since his initial surgery. This has included multiple procedures and an additional 2nd unexpected emergency surgery.

Due to the added setbacks Peter has encountered, and the future therapies he will be needing - Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy, we are updating the request for support. We are so thankful, and humbled, by all the financial kindness everyone has extended and the most needed prayers.

February 3rd, 2024

As many of you know, our dear friend Pete is battling cancer again. This time his cancer is affecting his head and neck. We were all so sad to hear of it returning after his successful battle 20+ years ago. This cancer is aggressive and has required multiple surgeries. It will also require radiation therapy and chemotherapy to help him battle it again. We know our Pete is a strong fighter who is going to beat it successfully yet again.

Pete and Jenn have been the best of friends over the years to so many of us. They are loving, kind, and hospitable friends. They are always there to listen and support others when they are going through difficulties and offer a helping hand. They welcome many of us into their home and their hearts and show loving kindness to us. They are always a joy to be around. We have also seen them recently integrate Susan into their household in the role of caregivers. The love and support they show to her and to support her health is an example for all of us.

Currently Pete and Jenn are in Arizona while Peter undergoes treatment. This unexpected and aggressive cancer has put a strain on the family as would be expected. Unfortunately, due to his treatment and recovery, Pete will be unable to work for at least 6 months. I'm hoping that this fundraising for them can help ease the financial burden, even if just a bit.
