Peter Cook & Colin Shepherd Fire Relief Fund

Dear ones,

As some of you know, last weekend, Peter & Colin suffered a fire at their place in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Damage was confined to their deck, but Colin wound up in the hospital with minor injuries, and they've sustained extensive smoke contamination to several of their belongings. Among these items are their couch and (possibly) their bed.

Several of us have been able to offer our hands, over the past week, to help them disinfect or dispose of contaminated items and re-arrange as necessary (for house painters, inspections, etc.) As grateful as they are for the help, it has been enormously stressful for them both, and morale is, understandably, not great.

One area of immediate need where I thought we could all be of assistance is helping them raise money for a new couch. The one they recently disposed of had about a $3,000 market value; that is the goal I'm setting for this fundraiser.

Please give whatever you can, and if you can think of anyone else who may be willing to contribute, please point them our way. All of us, I know, are very, very fortunate to have them both in our lives and that's nowhere better reflected than in how many of their people are willing to show up for them (even in small ways) in moments of dire need.
