Peter Donovan's Cancer Fundraiser

Today, we have the opportunity to help someone who has helped so many others throughout their lives, Peter Donovan. A great man, a loving husband, a proud father, a hardworking public servant, a dedicated angler, and too many, someone we consider a great brother.

 

Not many of you know, and we are not happy to deliver the news that our brother, Pete, is dealing with a severe health issue. Six months ago, Pete was diagnosed with stage 3 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the head and neck. Like the soldier he is, he has been enduring chemotherapy and radiation five times a week during the past six months. Some days he is at the hospital for 8 hours at a time, on 15 different medications and has already dropped about 70 pounds.  Most recently,  he had to have an emergency tracheotomy because the tumor was blocking the airways in his throat.

 

Needless to say, he is currently unable to work during this time. A father of five, two of whom have special needs and need a lot of support, does not have the luxury to be out of work for long periods of time without a little help. Taking all these factors into consideration, we are trying to raise funds that would go directly towards any medical bills not covered by insurance such as copays, medications, transportation etc..., as well as money to help to ease the financial burden that comes along with a situation like this.

 

We all know Peter to be a proud man, and he was against this at first. Eventually, after a little persuasion, he is finally giving us the honor to help somebody who has helped and been there for so many throughout the years.

 

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $20,000 +, with a minimum of a $25 donation. With that being said, whatever you can do will be greatly appreciated. So, let’s band together as family and friends to tag people, share it and get the word out.
