Peter Rye’s Fundraiser for Great Ormand Street

I am running the Hastings half marathon on the 20th March 2022 in the hope to raise as much money as possible for The Great Ormand Street Hospital so that they can continue doing what they do and help children like they did Oliver.

On the 20th September 2021 my son Oliver went to Great Ormand Street for life changing surgery.

The surgery Oliver had was called Craniosynostosis of sagittal suture which involved changing the shape of his skull to allow for easier growth of his brain, protect his eye sight and shaped/filled out his skull to a more circular shape.

Anyone who saw Oliver before his operation knows that he was still a perfect little boy however the surgery allowed for better growth and protected his eyesight as mentioned and also stopped possible downsides to an “odd shaped” head such as being bullied at school etc.

Oliver has came on leaps and bounds since his operation and is turning into a very smart young boy who has not long started nursery and will soon be in school!

None of this would have been possible without The Great Ormand Street Hospital who I cannot thank enough, for all of their support from nurses, doctors and surgeons.

Thank you for any donations no matter how big or small we really appreciate it!
