Pete’s Legacy

We tragically lost our beautiful Pete on the 26th May 2022.

 

Pete dedicated his life to his work as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist both here in Australia as well as overseas through volunteer work in Indonesia. Since 2008, every year (if not multiple times a year) Pete has gone on volunteer trips to West Timor and Flores doing teach-the-teacher

and hands-on emergency training with

midwives in small regional villages as part of the Flinders Overseas Group Maternal and Neonatal Health Program. Using only the available local equipment, wonderful translators, a group of caring doctors and midwives, and the love and kindness that truly made Pete the person he was, these locals were taught how to improve the care of women and babies. Locals came from far and wide, sometimes walking for days to attend these sessions.

 

We are asking that if anyone would like to contribute in some way and show support in this difficult time, in lieu of sending flowers or food, that you could consider a small donation. Any money raised will go towards building a legacy for Pete and his passionate overseas work. Specific details will be arranged, but we hope this fundraising can go towards things like teaching, building facilities or buying equipment.

 

We want to honour the life changing work that he has done and the work that he can continue to do through this legacy.

*Please note for go fund me requirements I need to advise I am Peter Scott’s step-daughter and donations will be withdrawn to my account to then transfer 100% of the fundraising donations received on to the Muder Ignacio Hospital in West Timor charity. The John James Foundation has partnered with this charity and will match any donations received to go towards the build of this facility.
