Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. More information about Hank’s Legacy Foundation can be found at the end of this post.
As you may know, Nate and I have been fostering our sweetie Petey since March 2023. He came into our home two months after our baby Louie crossed the rainbow bridge due to cancer. Petey was on his final day at the Baldwin Park animal shelter, where he would have been euthanized for simply taking up space (please read up on the California shelter crisis if you haven’t done so, and encourage people wanting to bring home a dog to adopt and not support breeders <3).
Our goal from the beginning of rescuing Petey has been to prepare him for his furever home, wherever that may be. Petey has learned a lot during our time with us, including how to adjust to rules and boundaries, but he recently started to regress significantly on walks, and in settings where he feels unsafe (like the vet). Based on some of the anxious behaviors we’ve seen, we believe he would have the best shot at a successful adoption with more professional training and structure. For that reason, we are hoping to fundraise for Hank’s Legacy Foundation, so they can cover the cost of daycare training and/or more long-term board and train for Petey. If you feel inclined to donate, we would be eternally grateful. Thank you so much for the support and for loving Petey as much as we do.
About Hank’s, from the founder:
Hank's Legacy Foundation was created in memory of my first dog, Hank. Every animal saved is a tribute to him and his life. Our purpose is to help animals in need through education, shelter, adoption, and community outreach.
